Of statue, plus statue & base together please. Johnbod 16:25, 13 October 2007 (UTC) bvvv bmng —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.206.107.201 (talk) 18:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's beyond me why people post photos of these colossal monuments and then don't put people in the pictures to indicate the scale.139.48.25.60 (talk) 15:24, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some made a partially successful attempt to address your concern, but it showed trucks in front of the statue. How big were the trucks? How far were they from the statue? It wasn't really an ideal scale indicator. So I replaced that image with a much older, but more to the point, image. Rwflammang (talk) 19:31, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

>>Translation

[edit]

Se desplomarán primero estas montañas, antes que argentinos y chilenos rompan la paz jurada a los pies del Cristo Redentor.

That is the actual Spanish inscription, and this is the "translation" in the article:

►Sooner shall these mountains crumble into dust than Chileans and Argentineans break the peace which at the feet of Christ, the Redeemer, they have sworn to maintain.

It is a crappy translation. I don't know where it comes from, but a more accurate one is in order. I suggest the following, which is more literal and free of the free translation seen in the article:

►These mountains will collapse first, before Chileans and Argentinians break the peace sworn at Christ the Redeemer's feet.

Whatever happens, though, I have corrected the spelling mistake: ArgentineansArgentinians
