Verifiability

[edit]

@Soleecitor: The whole article has information which are likely to be challenged.
Information such as "In 1961, Bishop Zielonka died and his suffragan bishop, Peter A. Zurawetzky, was elected as his successor" (which also concerns BLP) or "Prior to his death Pruter entrusted his ministry at the Cathedral of the Prince of Peace to Bishop Brian E. Brown, a bishop whom he had consecrated sub-conditionally on September 9, 2007 and installed as the bishop of the patriarchal cathedral of the church" cannot be taken at face value.
Most information from this article should be removed as per WP:V. Veverve (talk) 14:09, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Moreover, I suspect most information here are first-hand information added by @Abbot Brian: who seems to be linked to this group, and not information to be found in the 1988 The Encyclopedia of American Religions:Religious Creeds. Veverve (talk) 14:14, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The reference given at the bottom of the article seems not to have been the source, as the 2009 edition of the same encyclopedia only describes the Christ Catholic Church (Pruter) and not this one. Veverve (talk) 14:24, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
After cheching, most of the information of the article was not added by the person who added the The Encyclopedia of American Religions:Religious Creeds as reference. Veverve (talk) 15:44, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Veverve: Here’s a source for the first statement that you challenged. [1] The “1961” paragraph was written by Archbishop Karl Prüter, an occasional co-author of Gordon Melton’s.

Here’s a source for the second statement that you challenged. [2] (¶ 15). Abp. Prüter left his church corporation in the hands of more traditionalist clergy (see reference [1]).

If your suspicions about @Abbot Brian are correct, I hope that he will hop onboard and complete his writing assignment with proper citations. I’ll let the two of you duke it out going forward. Advent Blessings. Soleecitor (talk) 16:14, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed the article using a reliable secondary source I could consult. Most of the information on the previous version were not in the source I was able to read. I have also moved the article according to this source. Veverve (talk) 16:33, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I've added a sentence to clarify the current name of the Pruter group. Soleecitor (talk) 17:00, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
