Photo of spines
[edit]If anyone's wondering: This photo is of course highly contrived. Pelicans are small, the 55 book is even smaller, some of these books are big; In Flagrante 2 is very big. No sane person would store the books shelved in this way. My idea in so arranging them and in taking and uploading this photo was merely to show the relative scale of the books. And I stuck them among Pelicans because it's unlikely that people would mistake Pelicans for photobooks ... and because I like Pelicans.
A couple of days after looking for but failing to find my copy of the Errata In Flagrante and taking this photo, the copy turned up. -- Hoary (talk) 01:10, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
Pirelli
[edit]Previously:
- In 1988 Killip was commissioned by Pirelli UK which thought that he might photograph its tire factory in Burton; agreement on this was reached in April the next year, whereupon Killip started work. Attempting to use available light in a darkened factory in which work was done on a black product, he was at first unsuccessful, but in June he switched to flash and a large-format camera and photographed for three more months.
The latter is a good replacement for the first half of the first sentence of the former, but why did you cut the rest, Peelgovig? -- Hoary (talk) 10:47, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
- No response. I've restored it. -- Hoary (talk) 23:52, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
