[edit]The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.
- Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at Wikipedia:Lead. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[?] --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 20:08, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- If there is not a free use image in the top right corner of the article, please try to find and include one.[?]
- If this article is about a person, please add
{{persondata|PLEASE SEE [[WP:PDATA]]!}}
along with the required parameters to the article - see Wikipedia:Persondata for more information.[?] --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC) - Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (numbers), there should be a non-breaking space -
between a number and the unit of measurement. For example, instead of 37 yards, use 37 yards, which when you are editing the page, should look like: 37 yards.[?] --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 20:02, 19 January 2008 (UTC) - Per Wikipedia:Context and Wikipedia:Build the web, years with full dates should be linked; for example, if January 15, 2006 appeared in the article, link it as January 15, 2006.[?]
- Seems like a false positive.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 20:10, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- This article is a bit too short, and therefore may not be as comprehensive as WP:WIAFA critera 1(b) is looking for. Please see if anything can be expanded upon.[?] --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.[?]

- Lede, last sentence of the first paragraph is awkward. I like the non-passive voice, but it feels non-encyclopedic to me. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:07, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- College section, first paragraph. Last two sentences, consider rewording one of them, they both use "He/Howard also..." which is repetitive. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- College section, second paragraph. Consider changing the 5 to five to match the ten you have later. Or change ten to 10. Looks odd, is the best explanation I can give you (grins) --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:15, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Same section, last paragraph. Consider a short explanation that the Hula Bowl is a invitational bowl game --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:25, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Pro career, consider linking or explaining practice squad. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:27, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Pro career, next to last sentence. "modest" is an opinion. If you can find a quote for that, great. Otherwise it needs to go. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:27, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'd like to see a citation for the very last sentence. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:32, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

The main problem with the article is it's short. Very short. I've tried above to give some suggestions on some padding. Is there nothing available on what he's doing now?
- I tried to pad it with a paragraph about his high school. I have not been able to find out which years he might have won championships although they have won 22 state championships in the last 34 years.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:51, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Gotta love people who don't do anything outrageous. Okies. Ealdgyth | Talk 17:38, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
You know the drill, I've put the article on hold for seven days to allow folks to address the issues I've brought up. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, or here with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on.
Heh, at least this time no "Short choppy paragraphs"!Ealdgyth | Talk 15:06, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Looks good! It's a pass. Taking care of dotting the i's and crossing the t's now. Ealdgyth | Talk 17:38, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
