Chris Johnston's age is wrong in the bio.

[edit]

I graduated high school with Chris in 1991, Floyd Central High School. He definitely wasn't 12 years old at the time.

He would have been born between 1972 to 1974. Probably late 1973 or early 1974.

I didn't make a change in the article because I don't have a verifiable citation for his age, but he wasn't born in 1979. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.193.183.1 (talk) 01:17, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Clavin is one of the founders of Folk Punk.

[edit]

No discussion of Folk Punk as a genre is complete without a discussion of Chris Clavin and Ghost Mice. He has literally inspired an entire generation of musicians and bands.

Some of his contributions include:

Writing and performing "Up the Punx," which is considered an anthem of the genre. His band has also released over a dozen albums and hundreds of songs, which are covered repeatedly on youtube. a Youtube search of "Ghost mice" and "Covers" Shows dozens of such examples. Some of those covers are by well known bands such as Andrew Jackson and Paul Baribeau and others. His major impact on this genre of music is beyond argument. He was the founder of Plan-it-X Records, which was founded in 1994 and has released dozens of iconic punk records. [1]

He has founded and organized Plan-it-X Fest, which has had famous bands such as the Mountain Goats and Ramshackle Glory perform. How do we protect this page?

[edit]

This man has been accused of rape and molestation by an ex of his on the eve of his latest musical release. People are repeatedly vandalizing the page (no sources or citations) by making his bio read things such as "rapist," "predator," and "pervert." I don't really edit Wikipedia but until the whole truth is known, I think this page needs to be protected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8C3:8201:96B2:E04E:4E38:F5FD:F0CF (talk) 08:44, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really vandalism if he did it. (sass aside, the statement on this can be found here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6A8J0pz9_zLQk5mWU8zREdIOEU/view and chris has not denied the allegations in his responses) 122.108.203.164 (talk) 16:25, 26 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

At this point this article needs protection to prevent the removal or downplaying of the allegations. All of which are documented, sourced, and described in encyclopedic tone. --Wesborden (talk) 08:06, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sexual abuse allegations + public fallout should be mentioned

[edit]

Kimya Dawson, AJJ (Andrew Jackson Jihad), Pat The Bunny, and other well-known artists have been ending their relationship with Plan-It-X, pulling their music from the catalogue and releasing public statements. I agree Wikipedia should be neutral and follow notability guidelines, and I think a sub-section or at least a mention of these recent events would be well within bounds. The music press has been picking up on the story, so it's not just facebook posts anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:579:6280:65:8DE0:8D36:4A60:5DF2 (talk) 02:32, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As of now, the article mentions and describes both the allegations and some of the consequences of them. These are documented and sourced and must remain in the article. --Wesborden (talk) 08:10, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
