LTA is still active here

[edit]

For some background, Talk:Marcus Ericsson#Year of birth and User talk:DB1729/Archive 1#LTA vandal on Josef Newgarden are two of a few discussions I've participated in about the vandal. Despite keeping an eye on things, this edit had slipped by me until just now. I think I've managed to revert all the vandalism without causing any collateral damage. My fix is here.

The vandal's targets are Valtteri Bottas, Chris Buescher, Matt DiBenedetto, Marcus Ericsson, James Hinchcliffe, Josef Newgarden, Felix Rosenqvist. Two very common hallmarks of the vandal are: changing the date of birth, often including changing the year; and changing month names to Portuguese. They started their disruption in 2019 — possibly earlier — from an IP range geolocating in Rio de Janeiro. Then they moved back and forth from Rio to an IP range locating to São Paulo, favoring SP recently, though this latest edit was Rio based.

I think all the targets listed above now have the DOB cited to an easily accessible source in response to the vandalism.

Please help keep an eye out for any future vandalism. Thank you. --DB1729talk 02:17, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

...another one here. Caught it this time. I' ve reported the IP to AIV, linked to this post and linked the contributions of one of their ranges that is now blocked for 3 years, found here. --DB1729talk 05:56, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Recent activity on Marcus Ericsson[1] --DB1729talk 09:29, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Recent activity, again at Marcus Ericsson.[2][3] Thanks TylerBurden for catching that first one!:) I reported the IP[4] and is now blocked. --DB1729talk 02:49, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Two more today here at this page.[5][6] The range is now blocked, thanks to the admin. I've also noticed over the last year or so, the IPs more consistently geolocate from Rio again. --DB1729talk 17:03, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
