Chinese Cinderella is a memoir about a Chinese girl. It is interesting because it is a memoir about a Chinese girl. What do you think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.28.159.168 (talkcontribs) HI

I felt that Chinese Cinderella is a very bad book.It is crue and mean donot read this story. The language used makes the reader felt in character. When reading it, it draws the reader to the emotions that adeline felt, this attracts more attention to the story. Its a very good book overall and i sugguest you to read and share this story with Adeline Yen.

Guys, this page is for discussion of the Wiki article and not the actual book itself. If you'd like to discuss the book, why not check out a book review/discussion site such as www.IBDoF.com?

I dont think this book is good, because throught the story, it was about a girl who is treated like garbage. I honestly think that this book is pointless. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.239.233.168 (talk) 18:57, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I completely disagree, and don't disregard the book like that. Though the memoir does describe the cruelty of how she is treated; usually as back to back events in the book, it was designed to be moving because above all of her problems and conflicts with herself and her family, she succeeded. She is a successful writer now, isn't she? I mean, the details she puts in the book makes me feel empathetic for her. It's like I'm experiencing all of the things she's going through! Mrs. Mah is simply trying to tell us to keep trying and never lose strength.--Arisole (talk) 00:52, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In "She was born in Tianjin, China and stayed with her Father, stepmother(Niang), Aunt Baba, big brother, big sister, second brother, third brother, fourth brother, little sister in Tianjin and later moved to Shanghai." you forgot Ye Ye

In Memory of PLT

[edit]

This is a memorial section for little PLT. Let us remember her as a gentle, cute little duckling who always lala had time for Adeline, and was loyal to the horrible end. Alas, she was still a duckling. Why must the good die young, why? 76.20.233.39 (talk) 22:53, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese Cinderella!

[edit]

Chinese Cinderella is not a bad book... it is just a depressing and harsh book but the characters inside especially Adelines step mother Niang have bad or evil qualities. Chinese Cinderella is a book that to truly understand it you would have to be going through the same emotional and physical states. I commend Adeline Yen Mah for her courage in writing ths book it must have been very hard on her re writing the cruelties into a book and reliving every harsh word, every slap, every tear and all her child hood pain all over again.

Article not up to wikipedia standards

[edit]

This article is written like an essay, it is also lacking in detail please take not of several things - Information. The plot does not mention most of the events in the story, tell us about Adeline's experiences, for example when Adeline stood up to Nian -Quotes- perhaps the reader of this article would find it more relevant if quotes are included "...you are bad luck" for example - more information about the book in the first section and a critic reaction paragraph — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.49.214.232 (talk) 12:05, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
