Merge proposal
[edit]It is not usual in this type of article to separate the parishes list from the main article. Peter Shearan (talk) 08:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
It is a long list. I vote to keep it separate. --Charles (talk) 08:52, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- It is a very long list. Nothing would be gained by a merger as the Chichester (district) page would just look like a list when it could have some interesting content. I also vote to keep it separate. SuzanneKn (talk) 16:29, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Rewrite
[edit]I have started off some extra notes here to expand the article. The webpage of the District Council offers some further information - there ought to be stuff on the economy of the District: what do all those rural folk do? There could be a Transport section - I've just alluded to it in the Geography para. What it shouldn't have is information which is available on eg individual villages; and there might even be a general historical section, showing particularly its archaeological sites, which usually lead to larger-scale notes: who were the inhabitants of the area?
I still believe that the list of parishes should be here, even though it is long; that is one of the features of the District, and I have drawn attention to it. One suggestion is to put them in alphabetical lines, instead of one long list. It would also be useful to show how they are governed from Chichester (the list of wards in the website shows that).
Over to anyone else! Peter Shearan (talk) 19:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
List of Wards and Parishes
[edit]I plan to move List of civil parishes in Chichester (district) to List of wards and civil parishes in Chichester (district). Then enhance the page to contain sortable tables, and add a list of the District Wards. Possibly adding the County regions? See Rother for an example of the tables. Any comments? ++ MortimerCat (talk) 20:22, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
