[edit]Does anyone have any information about his draft status? If he graduated at 17 or 18 in 1968 or 1969, how does he not graduate until 1974 from A&M? --130.111.163.179 (talk) 17:03, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Methodist or Baptist?
[edit]His congressional bio [1] says that he is a "lifelong Methodist" who attends two Baptist churches. Huh? How do you list that in the info box? Mooveeguy (talk) 15:49, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Possible vice-presidential candidate
[edit]Although some recent sources have identified Chet Edwards as a possible running mate (vice-Presidential candidate) for Barack Obama in 2008, they are no more than rumours at the moment. Some users have been adding statements that he has been announced as Obama's running mate, which is not the case; Obama's choice has in fact not yet been announced. Please do not add this information again without a source to prove it. Terraxos (talk) 17:05, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
PRO-ABORTION??
[edit]You've got to be kidding. That is offensive. The term is pro-choice, and it should be changed immediately. 65.60.215.154 (talk) 22:22, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
It's not that offensive. You act as if a slur was used. Perhaps you believe pro-choice has a better connotation, but you're being melodramatic. It's not like it was listed as "Pro-Babykilling" or something like that.
Yes it is offensive.........pro-choice and pro-abortion ARE NOT synonymous. Pro-abortion is a conservative "talking point". Just because someone is pro-choice, does not mean that they think abortion is okay. Example, I believe that a woman has a choice (pro-choice) to make her own decisions regarding child birth, regardless of whether or not I believe it to be a good or bad thing. There's a big difference. Democrats call it pro-choice, Karl Rove and the republicans call it pro-abortion. Just like they like to use the "baby gets its brain sucked out" when describing abortion, even though 98% of all abortions require a pill and a period to flush away an embryo.....its all about talking points. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.255.87.158 (talk) 07:46, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
I wonder if you folks so offended by the use of 'pro-abortion' are equally willing to call pro-life people 'pro-life' instead of 'anti-abortion'???? Liberal spin on wikipedia amazes me! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.143.90.214 (talk) 19:41, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
Not Related to John Edwards?
[edit]Why in the world is this referenced? The last name "Edwards" is pretty common. According to the following link (who knows how reliable that is, but this is wikipedia after all), it's the 49th most common last name in the US: http://www.namestatistics.com/search.php?name=edwards&type=last
To summarize, this is a useless statement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.178.12.167 (talk) 23:29, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
