Thanks for taking this Calvin999. When do you plan to have the review up? Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:27, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Probably in the next few days.  — ₳aron 19:45, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good, I look forward to it :) Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:46, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
General
Lead
  • Bennett and Gaga first met backstage in 2011, after performing at the Robin Hood Foundation gala in New York City. → Had they performed together then? Slightly ambiguous.
  • The two later recorded a rendition of "The Lady Is a Tramp", and began discussing plans for working on a jazz project. → Something isn't working for me here. Would it be more clear to say that Bennett asked Gaga to cover "The Lady is a Tramp" with him, which started the ball rolling about a collaboration album?
  • jazz composers like → jazz composers, such as
  • The recording sessions in New York City were accompanied → Gaga and Bennett were accompanied by a live band, not the recording sessions.
  • Gaga deviated from her characteristic pop tracks, wanting instead authentic jazz sounding vocals. → This sentence doesn't make sense. Are you talking about the style of songs or the way in which she sings them?
  • was announced by Gaga and Bennett → Slightly OCD but the opening sentence of the lead says Bennett and Gaga, here says Gaga and Bennett. Choose one and stick to it for continuity.
  • Full track listings → Should this be plural?
  • a special titled → a special what?
  • in October. → What year? The last mentioned was January 2013, so it implies it was shown in October 2013, which it wasn't.
  • I would also include how many copies it has now sold in the US, and a bit about international charting. The entire lead is completely US centric.
Background
  • Bennett then asked Gaga to sing a duet with him on his upcoming album. → Source?
  • Added
  • and subsequently rumors arose of a jazz album from them. → Did they fuel the rumours?
  • Swing band and Grammy-award nominated songwriter/composer Marion Evans was → Swing band and Grammy-award nominated songwriter/composer Marion Evans were
  • also under consideration for collaborating on the album with Bennett confirming recording sessions to start soon. → also under consideration for collaborating on the album; Bennett confirmed recording sessions would start soon after.
  • On January 8, 2013, Evans, who arranged "The Lady Is a Tramp", confirmed that he would have a fairly significant part in the making of the album, → So many commas here
  • Later that month, Lady Gaga, → Later that month, Gaga,
  • Bennett said that Gaga had written an original song for the album titled "Paradise". → So it wasn't included?
  • There were also solo songs from each artist, along with the duets, → I don't really get what you mean here?
  • , and the title track, "Cheek to Cheek". → , and the title track.
Promotion
Commercial performance
  • The next two weeks, although album sales dropped, Cheek to Cheek held its position at number four on the Billboard 200, with sales of 59,000 and 37,000 copies respectively. → Doesn't flow properly, and I don't think we need this trajectory.
  • Is Gaga the first act to have number-one albums on the Dance and Jazz albums? It's quite an unusual combination. Would be great if this could potentially be sourced from somewhere.
  • according to Music Week it sold 10,469 copies in the first week. → according to Music Week, it debuted with sales of 10,469 copies.
  • After its release, Cheek to Cheek debuted at number seven → Saying "after its release" is pretty obvious, so it's not needed.
Track listing
  • I think there should be a note at the top of the section saying that all songs were produced by whoever produced them.

LOL thanks, and not very much escapes :P. I've done all but a few. Feel free to sort those out if you'd like. Snuggums (talk / edits) 05:38, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Those few are quite important though. It's not my responsibility to do them.  — ₳aron 09:43, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
