"missed by all"
[edit]It's not appropriate to say "she is missed by all" because this is an encyclopaedia. This language would be ok in an obituary, but it is too subjective here. 89.168.23.241 15:08, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
The Bill
[edit]Only one appearance in The Bill is shown; however there was at least one more. Some time after about 1998 she appeared in a two-part story in which her real-life sister Lisa played her on-screen sister. I forget the character names. One of the characters - possibly that played by Charlotte - died during the second episode. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:37, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Crack?
[edit]I think her myriad problems with drugs were once well documented here, but no longer.
Are they not relevant? Seems a bit of a whitewash... --82.41.251.96 (talk) 21:20, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
- Looks like you found and restored the content a few minutes later. A 2002 Daily Mail article with an anonymous "friends say..." quote is not a reliable source (Wikipedia regards sources which "rely heavily on unsubstantiated gossip, rumor or personal opinion" as questionable). I'm not sure if same extract being also attributed word-for-word to Elle magazine, and to the same journalist, is a copy-and-paste error, or a syndication of the same article.
- If no other newspapers or books have mentioned this in the intervening twelve years, and nobody ever came forward to state anything on the record, then no, it is not relevant to an encyclopedic biography of an actress. --McGeddon (talk) 09:20, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
Reverted and then undid having read the above. Huge whitewash going on here though, as a piece in the Independent basically reports that she was a junkie... --82.41.251.96 (talk) 09:49, 27 October 2014 (UTC)--82.41.251.96 (talk) 09:49, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
- Not a huge whitewash, just a tiny blob of Tipp-Ex on using a Daily Mail article that attributes a significant claim to an anonymous source. Is the "piece in the Independent" this reprint of Gannon's article in the Irish Independent that makes the same "friends say" claim, or is there something better out there? --McGeddon (talk) 09:54, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
- Reading Gammon's article, the totality of statements about Coleman being "basically a junkie" was that she fell in love with a drugs counsellor (with no context given for this), that an unnamed "friend" said she went into rehab and broke it for Berlin drug binge, that "according to one friend" she was later involved with a drug dealer, and that "her friends also say that she had started to experiment with crack cocaine towards the end of her life". If we don't have a single name for any of these quotes, we're "rely[ing] heavily on unsubstantiated gossip" which goes flatly against WP:NOTRELIABLE. If you're referring to a different "piece in the Independent", it'd be good to see that, but on the current source of a Daily Mail "anonymous friends say this and that" article and that article's reprint in Elle magazine, we do not have a strong enough source to allege that Coleman was using crack cocaine. --McGeddon (talk) 16:34, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
