Chelsea's status

[edit]

"Chelsea Melini-Harper is officially Charlie Harper's wife, Alan Harper's sister-in-law, Evelyn Harper's daughter-in-law and Jake Harper's aunt."

What is the source for this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chodaboy19 (talkcontribs) 02:10, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Chelsea and Charlie got married in June 2010 at Charlie's Malibu, CA home. They honeymooned in Catalina Island, Cal., and now reside in Malibu, Cal. They are expecting their first child in 2011."

Merge to Two and a Half Men

[edit]

Because this character doesn't appear anywhere else but the show, and is therefore non-notable outside of that context, shouldn't he appear within that article? On its own, it's just a short bio and a long list of romantic involvements; not a lot of content there to warrant it being a separate article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.16.19.164 (talk) 23:54, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rose Is His Wife

[edit]

On Charlie's significant others part Rose should be listed as his widow as they get married between season 8 and 9 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.153.145.247 (talk) 23:17, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No they didn't. In the first episode of season 9, Rose said they got engaged but never said that they were married and this has never been disputed by the series producers. That they were married is an assumption at best. This is demonstrated in a source recently added by an IP to the article.[1] This source is by "Kim Daugherty", a memeber of the "Yahoo! Contributor Network" which is (to use Yahoo's words) 'an open publishing platform where writers, photographers and videographers can share their knowledge and passion with hundreds of millions of people worldwide." As an open network it doesn't constitute a reliable source which, in this case, is a good thing. --AussieLegend (talk) 04:16, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bates in infobox as portrayer

[edit]

In a bit of a debate here guys, Kathy Bates portrayed the character, so therefore she should be in the portrayer box. It makes no difference that Sheen was in more than her, and it makes no difference that she appeared in one, she still portrayed the character. I was then told it's already mentioned in the article, but that means she should be in the portrayer box, or else Sheen shouldn't be there as he is also mentioned in the article and it would only make sense. Dontforgetthisone (talk) 19:55, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It does matter that she only portrayed him in only 1 of 199 episodes. We have to cater for all readers, not just those who are fans of the show, and it's misleading to them to list her as a portrayer because it gives undue weight to that single appearance. Regarding this edit summary, "if it's mentioned in intro then it should be in an infobox" isn't true. While both the lead and the infobox summarise points from the article, they don't necessarily have to contain the same information, and ususally don't. There is restricted space in infoboxes and quite often we have to forego including information in infoboxes when content is difficult or impossible to explain in the infobox. This is one such case. --AussieLegend (talk) 20:02, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
