Ginger Baker Trio

[edit]

Charlie has also played fairly recently in a trio along with Bill Frisell and Ginger Baker, called the Ginger Baker Trio. If anyone knows anything else of that project, please post it. -- 208.219.74.2

First, please sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (it will leave your IP address and the date, so we know we aren't responding to something written in 2005, for example. Seriously, if you intend to edit the Wikipedia, it is strongly suggested that you register a username here. It's easier for you to maintain an annonymous identity, much harder to trace the location, but (I think) most importantly, easier for other editors to recall other things you have said, and to recall some of your abilities and interests-- it puts a "face" sort of, anyway, on you as a user, and allows us to communicate an work together better. :) About your comment though, I agree, and actually, also belongs on the Ginger Baker article, which till recently, got little attention, if anyone can spare some time. Baker himself has always considered himself a jazz musician first and foremost, which many people do not know.
If anyone can find a photo of the Ginger Baker Trio, or one of Ginger Baker himself (one where the photographer can be contacted, preferably on Flickr- but even if not), PLEASE leave me a note on my talk page

Haden's political orientation

[edit]

Odd that there's not a word in the article about his politics; after all, he's a passionate, outspoken supporter of human rights and "liberation movements" (hence the name of his group) around the world. Plus the story of his detention and near-arrest (until rescued by the American embassy) in Portugal after denouncing that country's oppressive policies at a concert there. Someone who knows the history of all this ought to put something about it in the article. +ILike2BeAnonymous 17:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But he also wrong compositions to Che Guevara and Mao - hardly supporters of human rights ...

Good source: Charlie Haden interview on Fresh Air with Terry Gross

[edit]

The folk who work on this page may want to check out Haden's interview(s) with Terry Gross on Fresh Air. (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129476067). Among other interesting facts I seem to remember was his starting to sing again, in part because of having sung on the show. --Reluctantfeste (talk) 18:35, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Charlie Haden discography

[edit]

Support split - Discography section takes up more than one third of the page, and should be split to a new article entitled Charlie Haden discography. --Jax 0677 (talk) 18:33, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
