Is "Counties transversed"section needed?

[edit]

This information is clearly available to the reader elsewhere in the text. What do others think. Sebwite (talk) 01:09, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've been thinking it's unnecessary for a while now, but apparently it's used to show how many miles of a route is located within each of the counties it passes through. I've been following that example (as seen on the US 50 article), and the Tasks section in the MD Roads subproject seems to list it as important. —Onore Baka Sama(speak | stalk) 03:02, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just changed the name of this section to "Jurisdictions traversed," as the City of Baltimore is an independent city and not a county, nor located within in one. Dcflyer (talk) 16:35, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the section completely per a discussion I started on the main project page. Thank you for making note of that, though; it's another reason why the idea of the section is a little clunky. —Onore Baka Sama(speak | stalk) 13:39, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maryland Route 139Charles Street (Baltimore)Relist. Only recently tagged as a proper RM. Jenks24 (talk) 06:49, 12 March 2012 (UTC) I would like to get opinions on whether it would be proper to move this article, Maryland Route 139, to the name Charles Street (Baltimore), a title that already redirects to Maryland Route 139. I am in favor of this move for several reasons:[reply]

  • Charles Street is one of the major streets of Baltimore. Within the city, the highway is probably much better known as Charles Street than MD 139.
  • Much of the content of the article concerns the portion of Charles Street south of MD 139's southern terminus at North Avenue.
  • Charles Street Scenic Byway redirects to this article. The national scenic byway includes all of Charles Street from south of downtown into Baltimore County.

Anyway, I would like to see if there are any reservations about moving the article before I do it.  V 01:28, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Support - Ordinarily, I would use the route number for the title of such an article. However, this appears to be a special case in which the name is superior to the number. Dough4872 02:13, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Moving it makes sense to me for the reasons given. Kingdon (talk) 15:03, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
