Staten Island

[edit]

The only information I can find about Charles Seeger and Staten Island is that his brother Alan Seeger is noted as his family having moved to Staten Island in 1898 and moved out two years later to Mexico (in 1900 that is). Charles would have been in that in-and-out move but is this enough to put either of them into the "People from Staten Island" category??? This would have been a brief two-year period when both were teen-agers.

I think that this isn't relevant, and will revert if not contradicted with substantial evidence that Staten Island is important here, in the next day or two. Bill Jefferys (talk) 03:19, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I misread the Alan Seeger article. It has the Seegers moving to Staten Island when Alan was one year old (1889) and leaving when he was ten (1898). So they were there for nine years, not two. Still, how important was Staten Island in their life? I guess it can stand, but I'm not comfortable with calling them "Staten Island" people, as opposed to, say, "Mexico people." Belated thanks. I just added his Staten Island childhood to the article text (with citation), and I also added the Category (in recognition of nine formative years). —173.68.139.31 (talk) 07:18, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
