Sourcing, notability, article title

The US military is not an independent source for info about a US military officer. This article needs independent sources.

I suspect that this article probably would survive an WP:AFD, though it's marginal. Ray seems to be most notable for having been assassinated by FARL, led by Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, who was convicted of being in some way involved in the assassination. Whether the title should be Charles R. Ray or rather Assassination of Charles R. Ray or Killing of Charles R. Ray or Death of Charles R. Ray is an open question: relevant guidelines are at WP:DEATHS and WP:BIO1E. Personally I would go for Assassination of Charles R. Ray - there seems to be no disputing that he was deliberately shot dead for geopolitical reasons. Boud (talk) 13:47, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
