[edit]Why the locked page? Surely there can at least be a mention of the affair since his spokesman said it occurred. She did but billboards up in Times Square. Make the edit, unlock the page and revert idiots if they try to add info that is not sourced.--Looper5920 (talk) 20:21, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- Please hold off for the moment - there have been serious issues relating to this article over the last few days. Billboards are only part of the overall picture. The article is currently locked per OTRS Ticket#2010012010018682, and we are reviewing the situation - Alison ❤ 22:26, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

- Referring to BLP issues as "silly PC-ness" is seriously missing the point - Alison ❤ 07:50, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
- Surely this article can be unlocked by now? It's been two years. I think people have finished having their fun. 124.180.4.103 (talk) 23:23, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

While it's important to obey the strict sourcing rules for BLPs, that doesn't mean info that is well sourced should be stripped from the article. The Los Angeles Times, CBS News, NBC News, and Business Week have all reported on this. Grundle2600 (talk) 22:38, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- Please also see WP:NOTNEWS - we're not obliged to report breaking news as it happens. We've already had issues regarding unsourced and potentially libelous edits to this page & we're working through the details. I can guarantee that the page prot will be dropped to semi later today, just not right this very second - Alison ❤ 23:13, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- The article has now been reduced to semi-protection. Please note that unsourced WP:BLP violations will be immediately reverted. Everything will need to be reliably sourced if it is to be added. I've already made a start and got the substance of today's news in, but please make sure not only that everything is sourced properly, but that it is from reliable sources and give due consideration to the welfare of all people involved here - Alison ❤ 02:20, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- Charles has been appointed CEO of Infor Global Solutions. The announcement is set to be made shortly. 09:28, 25 October 2010 (ET)
- It seems clear to me that someone is using semi-protection as a way to control the content of this page, rather than to prevent vandalism and libel. To include sappy lines like "Phillips is known for his philanthropic work" but no references to the well-documented controversy around "The Glamorous Lie" is complete nonsense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Forestgomp (talk • contribs) 15:34, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
The fact that a well-documented affair that Phillips even admitted has not made it into this article is quite scary and detrimental to the reputation of Wikipedia as an objective information source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.134.254.20 (talk) 11:48, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
- I was browsing this page after hearing about the affair through some neighbors. Like others, I was surprised that there is currently ZERO mention of this fact on the main biography, which is well-documented on places like http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2124308/YaVaughnie-Wilkins-explains-advertised-affair-Charles-Phillips-using-billboards.html. Who has the necessary editing permissions to add a referenced sentence to the "Personal life" section? Key2xanadu (talk) 23:41, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- This is the talk page. Shall we just be blunt and say the editors of Wikipedia are a bunch of toadies? Come on. The billboard story is a well-documented fact that occurred in the world, and it's one of the key reasons why a visitor to this page might have heard of Charles Phillips. It's 2016 now. Come on. Wow. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.43.37.83 (talk) 06:03, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
