Possible "guilt by association" issue

[edit]

I gather that Charles Mudede is, indeed, related to Tobaiwa Mudede, but I don't think he in any way shares the latter's politics. If an article on Charles Mudede going to mention Tobaiwa Mudede's role as Registrar-General for Mugabe, surely it should delineate Charles Mudede's own views vis a vis Mugabe: He has called Mugabe "evil" [1] and has written that he "has crushed every dream that attempted to breathe and flicker in what used to be known as 'the bread basket of Africa.'" [2] Surely that is more relevant to a piece on Charles Mudede than the fact that he is related to people who think or have thought otherwise. - Jmabel | Talk 20:20, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see that mention of Tobaiwa Mudede has now been removed, with which I have no problem; I still think that adding a mention of Charles Mudede's published remarks on the head of state of his native country would be appropriate. - Jmabel | Talk 00:44, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mugabe dictator

[edit]

I removed the parenthetical about Mugabe being a dictator since 1987. It was uncited and clearly POV. Cite it from a credible source, then put it back. Otherwise, it should stay out. ludahai 魯大海 02:48, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leftwing / Marxist

[edit]

From what I know of Mudede (whom I've met a few times, and with whom I have mutual friends) he'd probably have no problem with the description of himself as "leftwing" or "Marxist", but it troubles me that neither of these two sometimes weighted descriptions is cited from any reliable source. If they are his self-description, they should be sited from his own writing. If not, they should be attributed. A quick web search verified only that his political enemies call him these things, which is not a reason to include them in an encyclopedia article unless those enemies are themselves notable. As far as I can tell, they are not. At all. - Jmabel | Talk 06:09, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
