Diet section: no out-of-season asparagus

I don't know how to write this in accordance with wikipedias policies, so I leave this here: To the very same state dinner where he refused to eat out-of-season asparagus, he traveled by A321-200neo, and the flight likely produced over 7 tons of CO2.

Reputable source: https://www.newsweek.com/king-charles-get-house-order-private-jet-climate-change-1829117

i don't have a source for the following, but a rough estimate of the impact of an individual portion of asparagus (even if flown in from Australia, which is unlikely) is significantly less than 1kg of CO2.

i don't want anyone to add "he's a hypocrite", really i don't, but some context to his "I don't eat out-of-season asparagus, because I am an environmentalist" would be helpful to Wikipedia readers. But again, I don't know how to navigate Wikipedia policies on this, so I just have to leave this here and hope someone knows what to do. --2A02:8109:AB8F:7600:7CF2:B19C:8ACD:6D47 (talk) 09:57, 1 November 2024 (UTC)

They have asparagus in Australia? When is it in season there? Perhaps he brought some back on the return flight? Martinevans123 (talk) 10:03, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
The asparagus season here in Australia is now, springtime. HiLo48 (talk) 10:12, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
I used "the furthest away place possible" to make a point. --2A02:8109:AB8F:7600:7CF2:B19C:8ACD:6D47 (talk) 10:06, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
Perhaps he did a bit of carbon-offset by planting a few acres of asparagus? Martinevans123 (talk) 10:10, 1 November 2024 (UTC) (... he does love a few spears, allegedly)
By the way, that Marie Claire source just gives the menu, saying: "Appetizer: Blue lobster and pot crab with a veil of fresh almonds and peppermint, created by Anne-Sophie Pic, the only French chef with three Michelin stars" But it doesn't say that the lobster was an alternative to a starter with foie gras / asparagus.
