I think the article is too fractured, with several one sentence "paragraphs" and such.--Jfurr1981 17:19, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Political mixup?

[edit]

If he was so right wing, why does it say he was opposed to Fascism as well as Communism? Was he a rabid middle-of-the-roader? That would be a first. Clarityfiend 00:40, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know in the 40s and 50s the Ven diagram of staunch Republicans and members ofd Citizens Councils was about zero. Coburn would be a big exception. Maybe he supported Dewey over Truman because of Truman desegregating the military, but this needs more work Hugo Lane (talk) 04:01, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Grandson??

[edit]

Is it true that Charles was the grandson of James Coburn? I have read biographical sketches of both that omit this.

I have no idea. I found a couple of sites, such as this one, that claim he is, but I'm going to tag the claim in the main article. Clarityfiend 01:30, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Grandson?????

I believe you meant to ask is Charles Coburn the GRANDFATHER of James Coburn. My grandfather was Charles Coburn's cousin. I do not believe that he was. It has never been mentioned by any family members. --75.216.19.87 (talk) 14:41, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is ANOTHER Charles Coburn, a British music-halls inger famous for his song "two lovely black eyes' at the beginning of the twentieth century ....Johncmullen1960 (talk) 14:59, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fact, not fiction, please

"burned at the stake during the witchhunt"? I don't think so. Cunningpal 12:10, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edison, the Man

[edit]

Shouldn't Edison, the Man be added to the selected filmography? Psalm 119:105 (talk) 12:51, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Widow

[edit]

I believe that Winifred Coburn (nee' Natzka) did not die in 1998, and that she remains very much alive!

She certainly could be alive, but she'd be 90 now. Do you have any proof that she did not die on 11 December 1998, as we're currently saying? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 07:37, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
