Hi Everyone,

CMA (characteristic mode analysis) is a relatively old method (developed in the late 60's) to solve for currents and fields induced and produced by a scattering object. It isn't widely used, and will not be found in any standard textbooks on electromagnetics. The majority (if not the entirety!) of information on this subject is found in articles and papers.

The page definitly needs more work, but this is the initial structure I've presented.

I will post links to articles and papers describing this topic, as well as eventually summarizing the mathematics behind this method.

If anyone has knowledge about this method, please contribute!

Thanks.
