Lead
[edit]- "having held the WBC female light-welterweight title since October 2020 and the IBO female lightweight title from 2017 to 2019." - repetition of "title"
- This follows the examples given in MOS:BOXING/LEAD
- "and bronze in the lightweight division at the 2011 EU Championships in Katowice, Poland, losing to Katie Taylor in the semi-finals." - and a bronze Done
- "losing to Katie Taylor in the semi-finals." - to Ireland's Katie Taylor Done
- "As of October 2020, she is ranked as the world's best active female light-welterweight by BoxRec[5] and third by The Ring, as well as the third best active female lightweight by The Ring.[6]" - all this information should be mentioned in the main prose and references in the lead are discouraged per MOS:CITELEAD
- This follows MOS:BOXING/LEAD. The rankings can change from week to week so there's not really a place for it in the prose. – 2.O.Boxing 20:29, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Early life
[edit]- "She credits her love for combat sports to watching movies" - more formal; films Done
- "and hit television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer," - the television programme Done
- "stating; "I loved all those fighting films. Kickboxer would have to be my favourite Van Damme film. The fighting in it is unreal. I loved Buffy because of the fight scenes and the fact she was a female role model." - a full colon is preferred in place of the text in bold Done
- Wikilink combat sports
- Already linked in the second sentence of the section. – 2.O.Boxing 20:29, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Amateur career
[edit]- "the ABA Championships in 2010[12] and the ABAE Championships in 2015.[13]" - a comma is needed after the year "2010" but before the first citation in this portion of text Done
Super-featherweight
[edit]- "After scoring technical knockout (TKO) wins over Bojana Libiszewska[21] and Bilitis Gaucher[22] in July and October respectively," - the citations can go at the end of this portion of text Done
IBO lightweight champion
[edit]- "before making the second defence of her title against Jessica Gonzalez on 13 October at the York Hall in London, with the vacant WBC Silver female lightweight title also on the line." - repetition of "title" Done
- Wikilink jab Done
- Wikilink slip to Slipping
- It's not the same Slipping. Slip as in "oopsy daisy, I slipped".
- "in what was a controlled performance from start to finish," - needs to be rewritten so that it is more formal Done
- "Cameron announced her split with Cyclone Promotions and trainer Shane McGuigan via Twitter," - she had left Cyclone Promotions and trainer Shane McGuigan on Twitter: Done
Further world title ambitions
[edit]- "securing Cameron a mandatory shot at Katie Taylor." - sentence needs verifying with a reliable source Done
Light-welterweight
[edit]- "Cameron said on the decision to move up in weight," - progress to a higher weight class
- It's not really a progression as such. Boxers move up and down in weight as they please
- "with the winner gaining a shot" - the text in bold is informal Done
WBC light-welterweight title
[edit]- "Araújo failed to make weight" - think there are a few words missing from the end of this section of text Done
- "weighing 5 lbs over the 10 st light-welterweight limit" - the measurements should be put in the convert template Done
- "Cameron won by a shutout UD in what was described as a dominant performance." - who was the one that described the match as "a dominant performance" Done
- Also a dominant performance should be in quotations as per standards
- It's not a direct quote, but I've changed it from "performance" to "win"
Results
[edit]- All of this section will need to be completely verified with reliable sources Done
References
[edit]- Use another reliable reference in place of the YouTube citation in Reference 3 to verify Cameron's height Done
- Reference 7 "About Me | Chantelle Cameron" - the text in bold is not needed and the source is missing the publisher in the publisher= field Done
- Reference 8 "Wham Bam Cam: Chantelle Cameron interview" is missing the publication date and the author Done
- Reference 9 is a duplicate of Reference 8 Done
- Reference 11 "British star Chantelle Cameron discusses Brazil 2016 run" is missing the author Done
- The Guardian's ISSN in Reference 12 is unneeded Done
- References 14, 15 and 16 should all include BBC Sport as the publisher Done
- Reference 17 "Chantelle Cameron - BoxRec" the hyphen should be replaced by an en dash (–) per MOS:DASH Done
- Reference 18 "BARRY McGUIGAN: Look out Katie Taylor, here comes my new recruit!" - no all capital letter texts please per MOS:ALLCAPS Done
- Reference 23 "Chantelle Cameron: Barry McGuigan says boxer will be leading name in sport" the publisher is BBC Sport not plain BBC Done
- Reference 25 "Chantelle Cameron Successfully Defends her IBO Lightweight Championship Over Myriam Dellal; Looking to Face Katie Taylor" is missing the work Done
- Reference 29 "BREAKING NEWS: IBO Female Champion Chantelle Cameron Splits With Cyclone Promotions" - same issue as above Done
- Reference 30 "Chantelle Cameron teams up with new trainer Jamie Moore | British Boxing News" - the text in bold isn't needed since it is mentioned in the work field Done
- Reference 36 "Staff, B. N." is not an author Done
- The title for Reference 43 is incorrect and needs to be changed as well as the work Done
Will put the review on hold to allow the nominator to address or query the points raised above. MWright96 (talk) 19:46, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

- @Squared.Circle.Boxing: Any updates? MWright96 (talk) 15:47, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
MWright96, I've gone through and addressed all of the above, marking each point with Done or adding a note to the ones not completed. Apologies if that's not the correct way of doing things and sorry for taking so long to get round to it. – 2.O.Boxing 15:17, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Squared.Circle.Boxing: Now promoting to GA class. I've made one edit to the article. MWright96 (talk) 07:27, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]I deleted Cameron's loss to Taylor at amateur level and Cameron's "revenge" from the lead. See WP:Recentism. (Fran Bosh (talk) 00:11, 21 May 2023 (UTC))
- I restored it. Taylor is mentioned as she's the most significant opponent--amateur or professional--that Cameron has faced. The addition about the recent fight is effectively an update, not recentism. – 2.O.Boxing 07:47, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- I agree with User:Fran Bosh that mentioning Taylor in the Lead is not appropriate, especially where the Lead itself is so short. Moreover, there is substantial scope for having this article put back into the GA assessment queue, as the Lead does not adequately summarise what is in the main content nor does it provide a snapshot of the subject's life and why she is important Billsmith60 (talk) 12:41, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
