This article's title is "The Chamber of Commerce of the STATE of New York, but the article's subject is the Chamber of Commerce of the CITY of New York". The article should probably be moved to reflect this disparity.WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:13, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify, the Chamber of Commerce of the State of New York is the official name of this organization and while it operated initially as the Chamber of Commerce for the City of New York, individual chambers of commerce were eventually established in each borough, including Manhattan (where the Chamber of Commerce of the State of New York was located). The Chamber of Commerce of the State of New York continued to operate independently of these as a meeting place and advocate of business interests at the city, state and national levels. While the title may seem confusing given the term State when it is clearly not the state chamber of commerce, it does reflect the official name of the organization. Changing the title or moving the article to another page would be inaccurate as there never has been a chamber of commerce for the City of New York but rather individual chambers for each borough.
