Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts

[edit]

Chamarajendra Academy of Fine Arts reply to possible-delete. While I am not the best person to write about this topic, I chanced upon the absence of this article, when I wanted to find more information about it. Someone who is into the fine arts from the region might be better able to better expand the article that in a way that it merits.(I'm a tasteless engineer). Here, I intend to justify that this article is not about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, that is not noteworthy. Mysore City is primararily a tourist destination, and amongst several things to visit, this academy is like a small museum, one of the things someone into the arts would check out while touring the city. It has some historical significance, as it was first started by a local pre-independence ruler. It also gets involved in local fair ground activities(exhibitions) and local festivities(like Dasara). Like many pre-independence royal assets, it now is owned and supported by the government; which is actually part of the reason why there isn't much information floating around on the web about it, as I mentioned in my edit-comment, I just quickly pooled information together. so I don't think there is any private interest here. The intention is to create a stub. Instead of deletion, I suggest that the article be marked for as stub/encyclopediac rewrite, so that someone-else who chances upon it and finds it having insufficient content may expand upon it. At this point I feel its better than no article at all. Even better, consult or push responsibility onto somebody(that could be yourself too if you are into these things) who is following whats going on in the arts in the area and do as their opinion. I'm located in Syr,NY so I don't think I can get a picture or anything. In the mean time I will try and see what I can do. -- Hgkamath 18:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was quite a learning experience. OK, what next ? -- Hgkamath 08:26, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it C. Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) or Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA)??? The article should be moved if the title is incorrect, or the beginning of the article amended. -- AirOdyssey (Talk) 12:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are right !, thats a big typo, The article should be moved, it ought to have been "Visual Arts" and not "Fine arts", should I insert ((subst:WP:RM|Chamarajendra Academy of Fine Arts|Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts|incorrect title)) or would it straightforward for you to do it -- Hgkamath 15:25, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Inserted a move request -- Hgkamath 18:18, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did the move myself. I had delayed because I didn't really think I could do it myself, until I did it. I hope I have convinced the reader, that the article isn't about something that is completely unnoteworthy. I will remove the (dated prod) tag before the end of the five day deadline, as mentioned in Wikipedia:Proposed_deletion article, as it might get deleted, thereby indicating that I don't agree with the reasons given so that this article be deleted. Is that alright ?. -- Hgkamath 22:49, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
