In order to validate the facts, thers is a need to quote the 'sources". For example readers would like to know the source for this statement:

"the city is named after Chaudhry Chaku Khan, once chief of the Mair Minhas Rajput tribe of the area:

Having visited the town last week and spent considerable time there i am able to add the following: The town is full of 'rickshaws' the most popular way to travel. This is a motorcycle with seats attached. Very cheap. The main shopping area is Chupar Bazar- full of tiny small shops. Where the service is excellent. You can buy almost everything you could in Islamabad here, but much cheaper. It is a hussling bussling city. No longer used for any farming. Poor sewage facilities and mess in any open space, the ground is used as a dumping site so it very unattractive.

I belong to chakwal and i will like to add that chakwalis should start looking for something else apart from 'ARMY' . The natives chakwalis are mainly in army, government jobs and middle east (mainly lower paid jobs). Higher education is a real problem. We don't have any quality colleges for boys and girls. You have to go Rawalpindi or islamabad for higher education.

Another problem with chakwalis is that we are not business minded at all. The biggest achievement or goal for any chakwali family or a boy is to go to PMA. We need to change this aptitude. Farming as mentioned above is really in bad shape because A) chakwal is an arid area B) land has been divided into small chunks because of population.

The only survival for us is to develop small businesses in chakwal, educate our kids, build more colleges or a CHAKWAL UNIVERSITY.We must stop our reliance on army jobs because if look at long list of so called Army Generals chakwal has produced have done nothing good to chakwal, except some cosmetic, low level development work in villages.Chakwal need to produce successful businessmen, professors, scientists, doctors, sportsmen, IT professional etc.

Is there anything else than Raja Sarfaraz Khan and Co in Chakwal?

[edit]

Well, today I was looking at the pages, and it seems that so-called leaders from the famous (?) Sarfaraz Khan Family are behind all the data supplied in here. What an honor for putting PA1 or PA2 along with names?

I think other families have some considerable contribution in the history of Chakwal.

Many prominent political figures, like Bhati family is totally skipped (I added their names, but they are gone).

I agree with the Riksha fact.....

Reuri thing was strange; the guy who put the article didn’t know what brown sugar is.

What about other products like the famous Zari ki Chapal, Chakwal's khes (blanket) and a lot of other stuff....?

I think instead of adding their family's military power, they should have taken some work on putting ACTUAL things (and ground realities) about Chakwal city (and district).

I will try to put as much as info as possible, and obviously will not mind any editing in it...

One more thing, Major Syed Zameer Jafri was not from Chakwal. He is from a village in Tehsil Gujar Khan, of Rawalpindi District. Similarly some personalities mentioned here NEVER lived in Chakwal City, but in some villages in Chakwal District.

The navy guy above have mentioned Manmohan Singh as the President of India, please correct your record, he is current Prime Minister of India.

Answer

[edit]

The content in wikipedia has to be objective. For example the names mentioned in the famous chakwalis list are chakwali's who are known nation-wide. For Army-men mentioned are only General rank and politician mentioned are atleast minister level.(I guess that is the reason no-one from the known Bhatti family is mentioned, as they have so far been only involved in local poltics, Nor is Raja Sarfraz mentioned in known political personalities as he never became a minister.. In fact his name is only mentioned for his social services not for his politics... If you have any postive contributions to make please do so.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.125.143.65 (talk) 21:53, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

there is a district jail in chakwal.location is unknown

Industry section

[edit]

This section currently consists of unsourced lists of factories with no indication of notability. While an industry section would be useful should be a description of what sorts of industries occur in Chackwal rather than directory entries for specific businesses. noq (talk) 19:19, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
