Is anyone able to recommend this for publication yet?
- @Capital W: this reads like a glossy brochure for the Chateau and not like an encyclopedic entry. This is not ready for publication. Sourcing about the Chateau hinges entirely on the one newspaper article. The others are list entries (i.e. it exists) or just talk about the region in general. Large section are entirely unsourced. I am not sure what the sections "Royal City" and "Other Chateaux" are trying to achieve other than creating an aura of notability by association?! pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 09:09, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jake Brockman: - you're probably right. I've come to the limit of the time I would like to spend on this, and we need to find an editor that can increase the level of information within this contribution. There point of "other Château" is to direct subsequent editors to other of the many pages in the French chateau WP listings, so that others can refer to them (style and technical presentation) so they can improve this one. There are dozens of other Château that are not listed, this one is of interest as it was the central tax collection office, so very well known in the region. Armaillé was the administrative offices of the Royal City. Others should take a look and add content. One curator (myself) isn't the best model.
- @Capital W: Maybe someone will pick it up. That will likely require digging through sources (possibly physical books) to provide references that establish notability as Wikipedia understands it. Being a government office at some point on its own is not notable. As you pointed out, there are hundreds of chateaux in the region, probably thousands across France. While I appreciate the heritage and architecture, just being a beautiful old building is not sufficient if it is not otherwise covered outside of Wikipedia. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 16:50, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jake Brockman: - again, probably right. However you're missing the links to earlier pages, which you have already removed. There is a category in Wikipedia called Châteaux of the Loire Valley, and it has three Categories. (A) Royal Châteaux. (B) Chateau of Nobility. (C) Other Château. In this reference set, there is much interesting information around the Châteaux, that while not always individually, but collectively, make this region notable. Otherwise there would be no section (C). While this article might not be to your taste, some other collection of editors, have established a ranking of notability, of which, this one is a Château of French Nobility, from every source found, being the second most rare category of Chateaux in the Loire, itself, notable for its Château. Particularly Royal and Noble ones. Within this section (Châteaux of Nobility) there are many chateau with long and prestigious and detailed histories, that do not appear to be well sourced, but without, Wikipedia would be less educational. Here is the best example of a non cited, but generally referenced highly informative article. https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_de_Beauregard,_Loire_Valley -- but please don't go deleting it just because it doesn't fit your interpretation of high quality work. I had nothing to do with this... other than reading it and ones like it, and so realising this page/building, which offends you so much, also needed to be included.
