Why Cessna got out of helicopters

[edit]

According to an interview with helicopter pilot and TV cowboy Rex Trailer, http://www.boomtownmemories.com/Aviation.html , the transmissions in those birds tended to explode, and there were fatalities. Cessna bought back most of the helicopters, presumably to avoid further exposure. Snezzy (talk) 01:49, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That is an interesting story, although it is WP:SPS. It would be good to get some corroboration from other sources, however. Giorgio Aposotolo writing in his book The Illustrated History of Helicopters says: "Only a few CH-1B commercial models were built and production ended in December 1962 when Cessna decided that the civil helicopter market was not yet ready for sound investment." - Ahunt (talk) 15:46, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have added it in, but I have been careful to indicate that it was Rex Trailer's opinion. It would be good to have more info on this to expand on it. - Ahunt (talk) 18:03, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
