Proposed merge with Central gelatinous substance of spinal cord[edit]

- Oppose - as far as I can tell, the Central Gelatinous Substance refers to glia, whereas the central canal is more of a lumen for CSF. Since cells are not the same as a tube for fluid, they sound different to me. But I'm no expert by any means, so my understanding may be off. This website says "consisting chiefly of neuroglia but also containing a few nerve fibers and cells"; again cellular vs fluid/lumen. --User:Bush6984 — Preceding undated comment added 23:18, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- Support - Just as a blood vessel has walls, so too does the central canal, and those walls consist of epithelial cells and the central gelatinous substance of spinal cord. So, I argue that that page is a subset of the central canal. Another analogy: a canal consists of more than just the water within it - the walls are essential to its function. - Oppose unlike the two other proposed mergers, the grey commisure is part of the spinal cord, not spinal canal, so I think it would be somewhat confusing to merge it here. --Tom (LT) (talk) 22:30, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
