Woj, isn't the United States Federal Reserve nominally (officially) privately owned? I suppose the important point to make is that all (?) central banks are a curious public/private hybrid.

There seems to be no discussion of US central banking history listed. Several of my books indicate that central banking was attempted at least twice before, but found to be unconstitutional by the supreme court. This should at least be mentioned.
