Difference between pages
[edit]This might be a dumb question but can someone clarify the difference between this page and the page here: Fresno FC U-23, which also redirects from Fresno Fuego. I don't understand what the differences are. Nweil (talk) 05:28, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
- The Fresno Fuego were bought by the Fresno FC back in 2017. The team then they turned the Fresno Fuego into the Fresno FC under 23 team. The Central Valley Fuego FC is a completely different team then the Fresno FC or Fresno FC U-23Joker4lifead (talk) 04:50, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hmmmm ok, thank you for the clarification. If you read that Fresno FC U-23 article, it's 90% about the original Fresno Fuego. Do we know if the Fresno FC ownership is officially defunct? I'm thinking that should be renamed to 'Fresno Fuego' so then you have 'Fresno Fuego' and 'Central Valley Fuego'. The Fresno FC purchase was such a short and seemingly uneventful part of the story. Not sure if you agree. Nweil (talk) 18:01, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- On the Fresno FC page it states what happened to the team. It states that the team folded then relocated to become Monterey Bay FC. On Fresno FC U-23 team it also states what happened to the team. It state that on February 1, 2019 the Fresno FC, parent of Fresno FC U-23 places the team on hiatus until the club has its own facility. As per USL rules a team by year three of existence a team must have it own facility. The renaming of the Fresno FC U-23 is not necessary because that is what the team was called at the end of its existence. Joker4lifead (talk) 18:54, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- A related issue is that the Fresno city template links to the old Fresno Fuego team (and not the new one). Seems like this should be update to the new Fuego team. Nweil (talk) 18:41, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- It should have been removed since the team is no longer in existence and Central Valley Fuego FC should be there which I will add. Joker4lifead (talk) 18:58, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
