Clarification of Petre's promotion

[edit]

Reference the clarify request (re Petre's promotion), the Army principle was that an instructor should not be junior in rank to a student. In later years in the RAAF, the principle was not applied (I, as a Flying Officer, instructed Flight Lieutenants and RAN Lieutenants). However, it might take substantial research to obtain a formal validation of this principle. Over to you, Ian. Lexysexy (talk) 01:52, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that clarification. I have amended the sentence so that it now makes perfect sense to me. See diff. (Hopefully it makes sense to others too.)
This article is very interesting but it is notorious in having so much unsourced material. Most of the material was added in March 2009 by an IP address. See diff. Unsourced material is likely to be deleted eventually. Does anyone have access to suitable source material so that appropriate references and in-line citations can be added? Yes, I was about to say in reply to LexySexy that although I didn't add the clarify tag, I have kept a watch on this. Looks like most of the text was just copied verbatim from somewhere (though I couldn't spot it on the web) and should be deleted. I'm about to create an article on No. 1 Flying Training School RAAF, and will probably be able to rewrite/source this from scratch some time after that. Just for the record, the rewrite/source from scratch I threatened over a year ago is now complete... ;-) Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 06:16, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Useful reference

[edit]

Australian Aviation has published a story from a 2013 edition of their magazine covering the history and current role of the CFS: [1] Nick-D (talk) 10:56, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tks Nick -- that detail of the recent workings of the place will make a useful addition to the article, hopefully will find time to do something with it. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 12:45, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
