Republic of Kosovo vs. Kosovo

[edit]

Official website of the Central Bank of Kosovo clearly says: "Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo". kedadial 20:18, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Republic of Kosovo is disputed, internationally. No matter who said what, especially on Kosovo. Tadija (talk) 10:25, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
1. <completely offtopic>We've been over this discussion many many times (as you know by discussion that were held on Talk:Kosovo and Template talk:Kosovo-note on which you were also part of) and we'll do it once again. Republic of Kosovo is not the subject of dispute, but it's sovereignty over the territory of Kosovo. Template:Kosovo-note clearly depicts it:
The political status of Kosovo is disputed. Having unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008, Kosovo is formally recognised as a sovereign state by 104 UN member states (with another 10 states recognising it at some point but then withdrawing their recognition) and 89 states not recognizing it, while Serbia continues to claim it as a part of its own territory.

2. Under UN rule, it was known as "the Banking and Payments Authority of Kosovo" and using Kosovo without the flag at that time would be appropriate.
3. Now, after the independence, it is known as Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (hint: see Republic of Kosovo at the end) as the intro of the article and also the official website say.
4. It is under direct control of the Republic of Kosovo, and not under UN (as it used to be). Therefore, using Kosovo with flag ( Kosovo) is appropriate.
5. I really hope you understood me. kedadial 22:38, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
