Range and photo

[edit]

@AxonsArachnida: The original description has this species recorded only in Waiwera, but the species isn't mentioned in any lists of species endemic to the Auckland Region. iNaturalist has observations across the country (there's also an available photo), but there doesn't seem to be a scholarly article or museum specimen with geocoordinates actively showing the species' range is greater than around Waiwera. What are your thoughts? Would it be fine to add the photo, and based on the GBIF reference/NZOR reference describe the species as being endemic to NZ instead of Waiwera? --Prosperosity (talk) 22:15, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's pretty reasonable. All of the research grade iNat observations of this species have been identified by Lilith Fisher, who is extremely knowledgeable about the orbweavers. Because of this, I think the observations are trustworthy to reference for range/images. AxonsArachnida (talk) 23:11, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@AxonsArachnida: Great to hear, I've updated the range and added a photo. --Prosperosity (talk) 01:36, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
