Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has noted that the following statement in this entry appears to violate Wikipedia’s neutral point of view and verifiability standards: “Richards was strongly critical of the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, which places limits on taxpayer-funded abortions in the context of the November 2009 Affordable Health Care for America Act.” The description of the amendment as placing limits on “taxpayer-funded abortions” does not accurately or fully describe the impact the amendment would have on the insurance market and may reflect bias in the editor. The statement is also lacking attribution to a reliable, published source. We appreciate reviewers who consider making changes to improve the accuracy of the entry. Vandalism removed

[edit]

Two obvious examples of vandalism were removed - “President of Planned Parenthood murderers, 2006–Present” and “American-born murderer”. These both link to non-existent Wikipedia entries.

Has had at least one abortion

[edit]

I'm inclined to remove the information about her having had "at least" one abortion. The source is Richards herself (though she doesn't say "at least," but rather "an" abortion) so it amounts to primary rather than secondary sourcing. While I have little doubt that she did have an abortion, such a claim is something that a person in Richards' position might make to sound more authentic on the subject. In any case, if the is reinstated it should be reworded. Motsebboh (talk) 14:43, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Who else would be able to verify it? This is something that we've basically got to take someone's word for, like their sexuality. But it could be put along the lines of 'Richards said that she had an abortion herself', to make clear that she is the source. Robofish (talk) 16:19, 6 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

United Methodist?

[edit]

Apparently, another IP made this edit claiming that Richards is a member of the United Methodist church. I remember reverting another IP months ago doing the same, and has since been blocked by an admin for disruptive editing. Just where do these IPs getting this info? matieszyn (talk) 15:14, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
