[edit]What is the "international jet-set scene"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.186.64.126 (talk) 13:31, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's an early 1960s term referring to what was then considered young or modern high-society, around the time when airplanes were replacing ocean liners. I really don't know that it has much meaning nowadays. The 1980s equivalent was "Eurotrash"... -- AnonMoos (talk) 01:43, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- The term Jet set has an article. 140.147.236.195 (talk) 12:58, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
Source of Income
[edit]As she and her family are large scale landowners, they have received millions of Euros as subsidies from the EU.
Her successor
[edit]Carlos Fitz-James Stuart, is now the 19th Duke of Alba. This should be reflected in the infobox, content & succession boxes. GoodDay (talk) 16:27, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
More titles "recognized by a government" than anyone else
[edit]This sentence is in the introduction: "According to Guinness World Records, she had more titles recognized by an existing government than any other noble in the world."
But the reference cited does not support the "recognized by an existing government." That fact might be true, but the article can't state it without a reference.
Here's the sentence from the reference: "According to Guinness World Records, Maria del Rosario Cayetana Alfonsa Victoria Eugenia Francisca Fitz-James Stuart y de Silva, born in Madrid's Palacio de Lira, has more titles than any noble on earth, being a duchess seven times over, a countess 22 times and a marquesa 24." http://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/aug/07/spain-duchess-marriage-fortune
I checked Guinness. It supports "most titles" but not the "recognized by a government." http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/records-3000/most-titled-person/
I've deleted "recognized by an existing government."

- At least Guinness carefully excludes non-earth nobles. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:52, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Plastic Surgery
[edit]It seems odd that the bizarre and hideous plastic surgery for which she is widely known is not mentioned in the article. 76.181.233.121 (talk) 13:42, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- Agree. Gustont (talk) 17:39, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Only reason I know of her. Should be mentioned. Stemel (talk) 18:52, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

Dukedom of Almazán
[edit]For your information: with the death of doña María Rosario de Mariátegui y Silva, although doña Cayetana_ Fitz-James Stuart had submitted a succession request in 2013 for the duchy of Almazán (see titulos nobiliarios en BOE 41: [1]), she never actually received this title. In contrast, after a long time the title was given to doña Natalia Ruth Mariátegui y Muro in 2016 (see BOE of May 2016: [2]). I therefore removed the title from her list. Dr. D.E.
