This article needs to be reconsidered. There were six Cavalry Corps in the Union Armies, not two:

  1. Military Division of the Mississippi
  2. Army of the Cumberland
  3. Army of the Ohio
  4. Army of the Potomac
  5. Army of the Shenandoah
  6. Military Division of West Mississippi (earlier named District of West Tennessee)

Since describing all six would be pretty cumbersome for a single article, I would recommend including the cavalry information in the articles about the armies, not separately. Unlike the infantry corps, which sometimes moved around from army to army, and therefore have separate identities, these cavalry corps were dedicated to specific armies. Just a suggestion. Actually, most of what you call "corps" were really division-sized units. In the Western armies, no official cavalry corps existed until the indicated date.
And the Army of the Shenandoah cavalry was really the Army of the Potomac's.

The only citation listed does not discuss Union Cavalry Corps at all. The external link: Cavalry Corps (Armies of the West) discusses some, but not all of the material written. I happened upon this article when I tried to search for Israel Garrard. The article mentioned this individual as a cavalry division commander in the Atlanta campaign. I changed it to the correct name Kenner Garrard (Israel's brother). The article also stated that the Armies of the Cumberland and Tennessee contributed the cavalry in the Atlanta campaign. I also corrected this (Cumberland and Ohio, not Tennessee). This article desperately needs some sources (and possibly more editing), but I don't have the time to fix this right now.
