[edit]Did a few fixes. Cannes-winning writer, seems to be notable enough. Lampman (talk) 09:31, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Can you provide a source for that award claim please? Movingboxes (talk) 09:47, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- I realise WP isn't a reliable source, but it is listed Un Certain Regard. Ged UK (talk) 10:09, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Splitting hairs here, more out of curiousness than a passion to see this article gone--as she was the writer for a Cannes-winning film, and not necessarily the winner herself (it looks like the director won) does that notability transfer to her? Movingboxes (talk) 10:15, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

- Blimey! That's a question for the film wikiproject to get their heads around! My gut feeling is yes, it should. Would the director have won with a poor script? Unlikely (though concievable i suppose). And vice versa? Again, maybe, but I think the writer is too integral a part. Ged UK (talk) 10:46, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the thought-provoking discussion! I've removed the speedy tag. Whatever the final call on notability is, there is certainly an assertion of notability now. Movingboxes (talk) 10:55, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
