Expansion...
I've gone through and expanded the article; I think it now reflects the literature. I've incorporated the town walls and bailey gate into the article, as they are typically dealt with together in the literature, and wouldn't easily stand up as articles on their own (without being forever stubs). This article is in good shape. Just a few comments from me:
- in the lead, given the number of William's, "William's heir" is a bit sketchy, I'd suggest "The fourth earl", assuming that is correct
- I've gone for a variant - see what you think. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:23, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- the use of bolding of bailey gate in the lead is not per MOS:BOLD, as it is not a synonym. Unless there is another MOS reason for its bolding I recommend unbolding it
- The Castle Acre Bailey Gate article links in here, which I think (it certainly used to be) covered by MOS:BOLD.
- that is a redirect rather than an article. Bolding in the lead is limited to synonyms, and the bailey gate isn't a synonym for Castle Arce Castle and town walls, it is a subset of it.
- the footnote in the lead is unnecessary, as the quote is footnoted in the body
- Direct quotes and stats in the lead are normally referenced - although other information doesn't need to be. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:40, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- Earl of Leicester is overlinked
- Fixed. ~~
- suggest "William gave
theSt Mary's"
- Fixed. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:23, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- suggest removing the initial cap from Duke in "backed the Duke" as it is not a formal title, we know who is being referred to, there is another example
- Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:40, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- suggest linking Disseisor
- Definitely, done. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:23, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- do you mean "the Peddars Way was redirected"?
- Yep, fixed. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:23, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- "Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, the Duke of Norfolk" the last bit seems unnecessary
- Fixed. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:23, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- Town walls. is an incomplete sentence fragment
- Fixed. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:40, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- the isbn's are inconsistent, some contain hyphens, some do not
- Fixed. Hchc2009 (talk) 09:40, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
