Nairs have reservation now
Hello all, I heard that Nairs are also eligible for reservation (financially backward). This is similar to OBC reservation. If it's true please modify the article.
The article is biased and written to glorify Nairs and degrade other communities. Nairs faced lot of discrimination from Brahmins, Rulers and Ambalavasi's which is conveniently ignored in the article. Sambandam, polyandy has been legalised by the article editors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.33.177.82 (talk) 01:44, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- There is no reservation in Kerala for the Nair community. OBC reservation is only provided for Avarna communities like Ezhava. True that every single caste in Kerala faced discrimination from Nambuthiries. But Nairs are no saints. They also discriminated other communities like Kerala Iyers, Ambalavasis.etc. (Ambalavasis like Marars were not permitted to take their food in the company of a Nair in Travancore). 122.177.229.250 (talk) 09:38, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
