origin of Ned

[edit]

So something that has bothered me since i read this book, what is the deal with the dog? According to the book, Denmark is a Labrador Retriever picked up in a Danish port in the 17th century. The Labrador wasn't officially a breed until the early 1800s. Before that, there were ancestors of the Dog known as St. John's Water Dog, but they were more or less restricted to the shores of Newfoundland until they were discovered by British Gentry. So how is it that everyone knows Ned's breed right off the bat, 200 years before it even came into prominence? For that matter, what was a Labrador doing in the middle of a Danish Port in the first place? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.116.103.217 (talk) 14:35, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gender of angel

[edit]

This article mentions the angel as "he", however, the book says that the angel is genderless, suggest "he/she"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.85.41 (talk) 01:39, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
