Richard Bere

[edit]

Query about Richard Bere. According to the Dictionary of National Biography the Richard Bere who was Abbot of Glastonbury died in 1524. So I'm wondering about the identification with the monk mentioned here. Charles Matthews (talk) 11:12, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're quite right, he was his nephew. I've tried to make that clear in the text, and added a reference that mentions the relationship. HTH Kbthompson (talk) 11:23, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that was quick! I should be able to produce an article for the uncle from the DNB, and I'll sort out the redirect that brought me here. Charles Matthews (talk) 11:30, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]

I've moved this article from its previous title, "Carthusian Martyrs", as it is on a specific group, the Carthusians of the London Charterhouse who were martyred in 1537. The title Carthusian Martyrs should describe all martyrs of the Carthusian Order. So I have moved it, and put a general article at the previous title. I trust that is OK with everyone.
