Birmingham
[edit]Is there any evidence that this was a Birmingham band, rather than simply including some members from Birmingham? Andy Mabbett 10:55, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
- It was formed by carter and lewis who were Brummies, they then formed The Ivy League band in Brum, during their time as The Southerners they worked in London for a while which is when Jimmy Page played as backing. They later formed The Flower Pot Men.
- Andy, I can see that Carter and Lewis worked in London for a while but it is not evident whether they were in London or Birmingham (or maybe both cities) during their time as Carter Lewis band. Needless to say that my inclusiion of Jimmy Page on the Arts page is warranted as I wrote "Brummie led band" and not Brummie based. Nick Boulevard 16:21, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
2011 changes - a question
[edit]I've done a shave and haircut on the article while trawling through Colin Larkin's encyclopedia, and as a result taken out some of the interesting, but not strictly encyclopedic stuff on the page. However, the thought springs to mind that actually much of this page is really about Carter and Lewis after the band split up, which really shouldn't be there - yet removing it would leave virtually nothing of note (unless some refs could be found to the Jimmy Page bit so it could be reinstated).
Any thoughts, anyone? I suspect there'll not be a great rush, so I'm inclined to revisit this in a month or so, strip it as above and make the changes to Carter and Lewis' own entries. Brieflysentient (talk) 12:27, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
