Carrows or Big Boy?

[edit]

In the early 90s, wasn't there balloting of customers as to what the name (and menu) of the chain should be going forward? "Carrows" won, and all Big Boy locations were converted to Carrows outlets. There were free-standing Carrows restaurants in Southern California already. A very similar hamburger to the "Big Boy" continued on the menu after the "election", albeit under a different name (All-American Hamburger?). The huge fibreglass mascots at the entrances of the Big Boy stores were sacked in a nod to a new "healthy menu". Was this "election" on the up and up, or was the Carrows name predestined for all of the restaurants attempting to become "healthy"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.115.238.102 (talk) 08:24, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Competition - original research, proprietary info; promotional info?

[edit]

I recommend eliminating or changing the Competitors statement. It seems to be original research or trade secret info. Perhaps what might be better would be a descriptive category of those restaurants, if that is the intent.

Also, I believe that the "Bakers Square" went bankrupt in 2008 or so and is not much of a competitor in California these days. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.183.224.2 (talk) 22:46, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
