This band does not appear to meet wikipedia's standards for notable music: WP:MUSIC. In particular, this band does not appear to have notable influence inside the genere, or influence on other genres outside this one. If this is not true, please add and attribute this with sources. Otherwise, delete. Ibanix 08:53, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Influence is immaterial. The band meets WP:MUSIC by having a member of a later notable band (Type O Negative) and by having released 2+ albums on an important label (Roadrunner Records). Hell, they even have an entry in Martin C. Strong's Great Metal Discography. Chubbles 18:12, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ambiguous

[edit]

On this page:

Carnivore was a band formed by 6 foot 8 inch tall, former sanitation worker, Peter Steele

From the Peter Steele page:

His height is 6 feet 6 inches.

Shall we settle for 6 foot 7 inches?

Also, weren't there stage shows like legendary. A buddy of mine told me he saw them and they had a dead dog or something like that strung up on stage...which eventually got ripped apart by the audience.

Disco...

Was Carnivore/Retaliation available on Vinyl or CD only?

Fair use rationale for Image:Carnivore 1985.jpg

[edit]

Image:Carnivore 1985.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Don't replace the article with another

[edit]

Don't replace the band's information with another. I meant create it at Black Hawk Down. 71.190.246.97 (talk) 00:22, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kathleen P.O'Connor has twice removed the list of members of Carnivore A.D., accusing them of breach of copyright. I've reinstated the list because, regardless of their conduct, it makes sense for an encyclopedia article to discuss them. If there are respectable sources detailing the claimed violation, then a section about that could be added. Until then, though, the article can't make unsubstantiated legal claims, and removing names isn't a good way of going about addressing the issue. I'm starting this section of the talk page to discuss the issue. Mortee (talk) 21:22, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
