I see blatant glorifiying advertising language. I tried cleaning up to make more encyclopedic, but there is a lot, a lot more to do.Limit-theorem (talk) 15:31, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"the recording of the 911 call about the overdose is in the LA Times piece - have you not read the source?"

[edit]

Well, I suppose I didn't read it well enough. I couldn't see any recording of a call, nor even a complete transcript of one; there seem to be some quotations from it, though. I enjoy an occasional synecdoche, but it seems rather a far stretch to say that the recording is "in" the piece. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:40, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

sorry about the edit note and thanks for following up. the audio file is the form of an embedded movie, just above the words "Paramedics took the woman to Huntington Memorial Hospital. Authorities did not release her name. The Times identified her as Warren through interviews, social media and property records.". The image is black with red lines signifying the voice signal and shows the first caption which is "Operator: Hi, this is the fire department. Did you call 911?" Do you not see that? I guess it looks just like a picture but if you mouse over it, it comes alive and you can play the recording. Jytdog (talk) 18:11, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clearing that up, Jytdog. All I see above "Paramedics took the woman to Huntington Memorial Hospital." is "He added, 'I think they [were] doing crystal meth'." Perhaps my ad-blocker is messing with the page, perhaps the recording is not available where I am. I was, as you can imagine, somewhat mystified – but no more! Ach. Sorry about that. Jytdog (talk) 19:06, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
