Attack
[edit]Someone has written "Some commenters report that a group of Iraq war veterans and Veterans for Peace protected him.[1] " That does not make sense because the sentence before that claims that Arredondo was beaten. So did war veterans "protect" Arredondo before or after he was badly beaten??? That story doesn't make sense. Can someone fix it? Thank you.

Carlos Arredondo changed his name to "Alexander Brian Arredondo"???
[edit]Carlos Arredondo apparently changed his name (Carlos) to his two dead son's names (Alexander Brian) after they died, can someone figure out what Carlos' legal name is? There should be a basic mention of this in Arredondo's wiki page. It's confusing and not explained.
Carlos Arredondos other son dead as of Dec 20th
[edit]This absolutely demands inclusion in this entry. http://hereandnow.wbur.org/2011/12/20/father-loses-second-son — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.167.135.217 (talk) 06:02, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
Boston Marathon Bombing Involvement (as a first aider)
[edit]I wanted to add more information about his actions at the Boston Marathon Bombings but I didn't want to link to highly graphic images - ideas? WilliamBaked (talk) 23:31, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- Crop the gore out of some and load the pic up with a clear note why they were cropped and a link to the original? Twisted Mentat (talk) 01:26, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- > load the pic up
- Load it where? It's a work covered by copyright. What would be the fair use rational? Anyone who wants to find the photo or video can find it easily enough at the sources who own the copyright. This particular aspect of this event is not by itself a "significant historical event". There's a link to a youtube at this moment (and presuming the copyright holder of that video uploaded it to youtube...). I don't think any change is necessary. The description is very specific and adequate. CraigWyllie (talk) 04:29, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
That is clearly not an artery he is holding. It appears to be a improvised tourniquet made from the drawstring from a pair of running shorts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.121.9.185 (talk) 18:58, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
In response to the above, Carlos confirmed that it actually was Mr. Bauman's severed artery he was holding as he was transported to the ambulance. He confirmed this in a radio interview which can be found here: http://audio.weei.com/a/73702023/the-hero-in-the-cowboy-hat-carlos-arredondo.htm He goes on to explain later on in the interview (when asked) that he knew to pinch the artery because of his Red Cross training. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.170.121.250 (talk) 09:07, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
There is now a petition on the White House petitions page for him to be awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal which seems pretty noteworthy. I'm not sure how that has/hasn't been handled in the past, it's possible this could be a first considering the type of event and the petition being for one individual to receive a specific honor, but I'm not sure, hence it being brought for discussion. Removed a statement about him being a hero and selfless. While I personally agree, it's not encyclopedic. Kyle Maxwell (talk) 13:40, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
..asked to leave .. refused to leave..
[edit]The summary of what happened is ... odd. To me it sounds very p.o.v. the way it repeats the statement about "the marines refusing to leave". I think that whole section could do with a rewrite, if someone could find a npov more even handed source to go by. And although the term "the marines" might technically be correct, it sounds like "some random marines", and I'm guessing they don't send "some random marines" to inform families. Was anything unusual done in this case? Do they always send chaplains? Are there ever cases where they do not? And we don't want to do independent research. Not that we want to do "independent research". CraigWyllie (talk) 04:36, 16 April 2013 (UTC) PICTURE IS WRONG — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.67.161.19 (talk) 15:22, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
