death ?
[edit]IMDB states that Carl Fick, director of Donny B (and therefore the same Carl Fick this article is about), died in 1990 in New York (uncited as to source). There is a record on Ancestry.com of a Carl Fick who was born on the same date as the one this article is about, http://records.ancestry.com/Carl_A_Fick_records.ashx?pid=64540275 that states he died on Feb 23, 1990 and that his middle initial is A, that his father was also Carl A. Fick, and that his mother was Vivian Metcalfe. There is a death record in New York of a Carl M. Fick who died on Feb 1, 1990 and who also had the same birth date as Contemporary Authors 167, 1998, pages 121-123 gives for this Carl Fick. However, that publication (in 1998) did not list a date of death nor did it give a middle initial. It is plausible his middle initial was Metcalfe from the above, but I have yet to find any such reference. With this information, should we keep living=yes? marriage
[edit]I also found an obituary of his wife http://www.abbott-library.com/readobit.php?obitid=3424 not sure if it will be useful or not. It does however state that her husband pre-deceased her, which I think means we can remove the "living persons" tag even if the date of his death is not verifiably sourced. [edit]I removed the exact birth date provided in Contemporary Authors due to that it is the biography of a (maybe) still living person and the identity theft concerns mentioned in the guidelines.
Since he wrote 3 books and two were novels, should he go in the American novelist category or the American writers category?
For purposes of citation: the information in the article about publication dates of all books except From Mexico With Death comes from the Amazon.com source. The information about that book comes from the From Mexico With Death link. The information about the documentary comes partly from Contemporary Authors and partly from the Day in the Death documentary link. Information about the Masterson movie comes from the Wade Miller article reference.
All information about reviews/coverage of his writing, documentaries made, and life history including education and military service comes from Contemporary Authors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Felisse (talk • contribs) 18:49, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
