New article
[edit]It seemed prudent to create a bespoke article about the new Interchange, as a new tranport hub for Cardiff, now it is well into its construction stage. The new development will be run by Transport for Wales, rather than the Cardiff local authority, so is a fundamentally different beast. A separate article may also discourage editors from over-writing the article about the previous bus station and instead preserve the information. There's a question, of course, about which name for the new interchange will 'stick', but I've gone with "Cardiff Transport Interchange" for now. Sionk (talk) 19:44, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for starting this. Personally I'd have gone for The Interchange, Cardiff as that seems to be the name of the project and the name used on the branding. But a good start. Llemiles (talk) 14:35, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for the thanks. I get the feeling "The Interchange" is the nice commercial badge the developers would like to use for the overdeveloped resident-y, shop-y bit (which makes them the money to throw in a bus station), while "Transport Interchange" is what people call it when they think the bus station is the raison d'etre behind the project (which it surely is). The architects call it the Cardiff Interchange and the builders call it the Cardiff Transport Interchange. Then the Welsh Government see the "bus interchange" as part of a wider public transport interchange covering that part of the city, including coaches and the metro.
