I'm sorry but the section being removed here is just strange. Giving it this much attention is obviously WP:UNDUE and that's ignoring a whole host of other problems (WP:FRINGE and the fact that it's just kooky).Volunteer Marek (talk) 16:43, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is no WP:UNDUE because there are not many "ideological" points of view to make this approach. In the text there were not given moral approaches to benefits or negative consequences of driving. The article is about car financial expenditures on a scientific approach, so that chapter was stricted related (WP:Content removal). Besides, removing a whole chapter (again) without any debate seems to me a big domineering aptitude and disrespect towards the others. I will not though create an edition war. It seems Marek woke up one day and didn't like what he saw on this article and decided to remove a series of sentences, multimedia, even a chapter and also reliable sources to such issues, without giving any notice to others. Car costs to income ratio

Why this phrase (just the phrase) was removed?

Motorists in the United Kingdom seem to spend on the car an average of roughly 1/3 of their average net income,[1] while motorists in Portugal seem to spend 1/2 of their net income.[2] This situation is reflected in most other Western nations. For the average car owner, depreciation constitutes about half the cost of running a car.[1] The typical motorist underestimates this fixed cost by big margin, or even ignores it altogether.[3]

Road tax does NOT have to go into roads

In the tax section, it says "taxes serve, either to maintain the roads and all the correspondent infrastructures or to compensate the negative externalities caused by the motor vehicles. " I can very definitely tell you that is (regrettably) NOT the case in Germany. State revenue from the VED ist just lumped in with all the other tax money and the state spends it as it sees fit. There is no obligation whatsoever to spend it on roads or any damage caused by cars. Same goes for the "environmental tax" levied on fuel which is just a second fuel tax.--Cancun (talk) 11:14, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, but theoretically is that the purpose. What do you say if one writes "taxes serve theoretically, to maintain the roads and all the correspondent infrastructures and to compensate the negative externalities caused by the motor vehicles."? The article could use a comparison of several cars, under the same year, under the same location (state), comparing occasion costs.
