Classification

[edit]

There have been relatively recent changes to classification of the Cape Parrot and similar parrots. Snowman 19:37, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Captivity

[edit]

Why did you remove the note about captive breeding??

Put back with corrections. Snowman 14:58, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Endangered?

[edit]

According to NatGeo this parrot is endangered but the information box on this article says otherwise. http://newswatch.nationalgeographic.com/2012/08/30/dead-birds-flying-rescuing-the-endangered-cape-parrot/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.85.21.251 (talk) 04:38, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing names

[edit]

The recent change in classification is confusing, and it seems to me, that many web-sites still use old classification. Please check to see what classification reference are using. 89.243.11.222 14:49, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Separate P. fuscicollis and P. robustus articles

[edit]

From Talk:Poicephalus fuscicollis:

Whether Poicephalus fuscicollis is used as the main page for the 'un-capes' or something else, it's very confusing to have so many mentions in the Cape Parrot article describing P. Robustus as a distinct species while not having a separate page for the other species. This isn't an attempt to boost the argument that they should be considered a separate species—even if the consensus reverts to one species with 3 subspecies, there is still room for a separate article about the South African variant given its precarious conservation status, right?

I may have made a mistake in changing the redirects and starting up Poicephalus fuscicollis as its own article, but it's out of being tired of being confused about what the main article is talking about, not out of an attempt to say one side or another is right in the taxonomic debate.—140.153.24.155 (talk) 15:33, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
